Job description
Role overview
Resettle (Intensive Intervention & Risk Management Services) is a community-based specialist service that offers an alternative way of improving outcomes for people with complex needs linked to personality difficulties and offending histories. The service operates through a collaborative model involving Mersey Care NHS Trust, the Probation Service and Merseyside Police, and forms part of the Offender Personality Pathway.
The role is suited to someone who can bring a positive yet practical outlook to working with people who have committed sexual and/or violent offences and who also present with significant personality-related challenges. The team is looking for someone who is compassionate, adaptable and comfortable working within a busy multi-agency environment where both risk management and psychological support are central.
The post is based at the Resettle base, but the work covers a wide range of settings including prisons and community locations, so travel is an important part of the job.
Purpose of the post
You will help deliver and strengthen psychological care for service users across relevant settings by contributing to psychological assessment and intervention work. This is carried out under the guidance of a qualified psychologist, with you working independently in line with an agreed plan and within the service’s policies and procedures.
Organisation information
Mersey Care is among the largest providers of physical and mental health services in the North West, supporting more than 1.4 million people across the region and delivering commissioned services across the North West, North Wales and the Midlands.
The trust provides specialist inpatient and community services spanning physical health, mental health, learning disability, addiction and brain injury services. It is also one of only three trusts in the UK offering high secure mental health facilities.
Everything the organisation does is guided by its commitment to perfect care: care that is safe, effective, positively experienced, timely, equitable and efficient. Staff are supported to do their best work and collaborate with service users, families and carers to shape future services. The organisation is also undergoing transformation across services to improve quality while reducing costs safely.
