Job description
Role Overview
This position involves overseeing various accounting processes such as meeting governance, audit clearance, and vendor reconciliation, with a focus on the accounts payable (AP) close cycle. The key objective is to ensure invoices are processed accurately and timely, while supporting organizational financial reporting and planning activities.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate vendor relationships, reconciliation activities, and ensure governance standards and audit requirements are met.
- Prepare and review the annual financial planning process and monitor its timely completion.
- Oversee the generation and review of monthly operational reviews, business commentaries, and CFO presentations.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including assistant managers, senior executives, managers, and peers to report performance, handle escalations, and support process clarifications.
- Engage with external onshore team managers and subject matter experts to plan daily work and execute deliverables efficiently.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Deep understanding of GAAP accounting principles and related procedures.
- Competency in preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and related financial reports.
- Ability to identify and investigate accounting issues and coordinate project work.
- Knowledge of insurance accounting regulatory reporting, US GAAP, and IFRS is preferred.
- Proficient in managing statutory or GAAP accounting close cycles to deliver accurate outputs.

Qualifications and Experience
- Chartered Accountant, CPA, CFA, or equivalent qualification with 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
- Alternatively, a B.Com degree with over 4 to 6 years of strong practical reporting experience.
- Experience of 2 to 4 years in technical accounting or reporting, preferably within an insurance company environment.
