About the Organization
This role is based in a flagship giga project driven by Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. The project aims to establish a world-class destination for entertainment, culture, and lifestyle featuring extensive infrastructure, hospitality, retail, and service sectors. Managing supplier relationships and mitigating supply chain risks on a large scale are key to supporting this multibillion-dollar initiative.
Role Overview
As the Assistant Manager in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), you will assist in executing the strategic and operational SRM goals. Your responsibilities will include identifying and engaging strategic suppliers and partners, ensuring suppliers are correctly onboarded with comprehensive documentation, acting as the liaison for suppliers, providing internal teams with critical supplier information, and monitoring supplier performance across all projects within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with major suppliers to align with organizational objectives and service expectations.
- Conduct market scouting to identify reputable partners for bids and tenders.
- Assist SRM leadership by organizing and participating in meetings with key suppliers.
- Function as the main contact for assigned suppliers, ensuring clear communication and prompt resolution of issues.
- Track and analyze supplier performance via key performance indicators such as quality, delivery, and compliance; promote continuous improvement measures.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to align supplier capabilities with business requirements and project targets.
- Perform supplier evaluations and risk assessments regularly to highlight potential issues and recommend mitigation.
- Collaborate across departments to facilitate smooth project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical guidelines, and sustainability objectives.
- Maintain updated and accurate records and documentation for all suppliers.
- Conduct market research to evaluate prospective vendors.
- Manage supplier performance metrics by analyzing KPIs including quality, delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance; support the creation and dissemination of performance reports identifying trends and risks.
- Participate in supplier performance audits and reviews to verify compliance with contracts and standards.
- Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering their professional growth and promoting knowledge sharing.
- Encourage a collaborative and high-performance culture within the SRM team.
- Support capacity building through training initiatives and ongoing learning efforts within the function.
Requirements
- Over 6 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or supply chain operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Preferred certifications include Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM).
- Knowledge of Saudi Arabia's regulatory landscape.
- Strong analytical aptitude to effectively identify and manage risks.
- Proven success in managing supplier relationships and enhancing supplier performance.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic proficiency is a strong advantage.
- Experience working within the cultural and commercial environment of Saudi Arabia is preferred.
