Job description
Role overview
This on-site QA Assistant Manager position is based in Abu Dhabi and supports property quality assurance activities for the PDD department within the QA division. The role is responsible for coordinating daily QA operations, keeping inspection work on schedule, and escalating technical concerns to senior management when needed.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare the site platform for each new project and make sure all required workflows and project information are in place.
- Direct the QA team on a day-to-day basis by allocating tasks and confirming that every member understands their duties.
- Make sure the team has the tools and equipment needed for inspections, while also managing their availability.
- Keep the asset register updated so that inspection tools, equipment, and other QA resources are properly tracked.
- Support internal audits twice during each project lifecycle to check adherence to quality standards and highlight improvement opportunities.
- Ensure that planned inspections and QA tasks are completed on time and in line with agreed schedules.
- Escalate technical quality matters to the QA Manager and Head of Department for prompt resolution.
- Share major quality concerns with the wider project team so they can be addressed effectively.
- Prepare and issue weekly progress reports covering inspections, audits, and other QA-related activities.
- Ensure the site quality management system is actively used across all projects.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation for inspections, audits, and other quality activities.
Qualifications and experience
The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a similar discipline. A minimum of 10 years of UAE experience in QA/QC, construction supervision, or property handover is required. The role also calls for a solid grasp of building finishes, MEP systems, integrated QA processes, snagging platforms, reporting tools, and handover compliance requirements.
Leadership and working style
This role suits someone with strong leadership skills, the ability to manage a multidisciplinary team, and the confidence to work across multiple projects at once. High attention to detail, organised workload planning, sound problem-solving ability, resilience during busy handover periods, and strong communication and stakeholder management are essential. A customer-oriented approach and the ability to handle expectations tactfully are also important.
