Overview
Shenton College, a prominent co-educational institution in Western Australia with around 2800 students and 300 staff, is building a pool of Assistant Gardeners - Handypersons for permanent and fixed-term full-time or part-time roles available during the 2026/2027 academic year, starting from Term 3, 2026 through to Term 2, 2027. Recruitment from this pool can occur at any time within this period.

Role Summary
Reporting to the Head Gardener, incumbents will join a committed team responsible for maintaining the school grounds and facilities to ensure a safe, aesthetically pleasing, and welcoming environment for the school community and visitors.
Key Duties
- Perform routine grounds maintenance and gardening tasks with a strong understanding of horticultural practices, equipment use, and plant care.
- Undertake minor repair work and upkeep of tools and equipment.
- Work autonomously while also collaborating effectively within the team.
- Carry out additional handyman duties as necessary to support the maintenance of the campus.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicants will be dependable, motivated, and possess practical gardening and handyperson experience. Prior involvement in gardening, grounds upkeep, or similar roles is highly favorable.

- The role includes permanent and fixed-term appointments, with both full-time and part-time opportunities.
