Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Bar Manager to join our dedicated team at The Heritage. This role entails full accountability for managing stock and services across all beverage outlets. The successful candidate will ensure all guest needs related to beverage service are fulfilled promptly and courteously, maintaining the highest quality service aligned with five-star standards. A focus on maximizing sales opportunities and controlling costs is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and develop the bar team, establishing objectives and routinely reviewing progress.
• Ensure compliance with the Intoxicating Liquor Act 2003/2004 and subsequent related legislation through comprehensive staff training and certification.
• Promote responsible alcohol serving practices by thorough staff instruction.
• Foster a positive working environment that boosts team morale and instills pride and dedication.
• Manage ordering, cost control, and quality standards of all beverage supplies while adhering to purchase order procedures.
• Maintain effective communication with all management sectors to guarantee smooth operation of beverage departments.
• Conduct regular stock takes on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Complete HACCP documentation as required to uphold safety standards.
• Generate and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly beverage reports and forecasts as requested.
• Update and enforce standard operating procedures to consistently meet beverage outlet standards.
• Ensure familiarity and adherence to Failte Ireland and Preferred Standards, providing thorough employee training on these protocols.
• Supervise daily bar operations ensuring sufficient staffing and effective oversight.
• Collaborate with Senior Management to meet targets related to payroll and gross profit margins.
• Participate in management meetings as required.
• Conduct employee performance reviews and job-related discussions.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience in a bar or hospitality environment.
• A strong passion for delivering outstanding guest service confidently and professionally.
• Proven expertise in bartending.
• Exceptional coaching and leadership capabilities.
