Assistant Athletic Director - Head Athletic Trainer

Position Overview

The Assistant Athletic Director - Head Athletic Trainer role at Cameron University is a full-time, year-round appointment dedicated to overseeing the development and execution of a comprehensive athletic training program aligned with NCAA, conference, and university standards. The individual in this role contributes to the Athletic Department's mission by supporting student-athlete welfare, fostering teamwork among staff, and ensuring compliance with all regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide prevention, evaluation, and treatment for sports-related injuries among student-athletes.
• Manage rehabilitation plans to facilitate athlete recovery.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with local healthcare professionals.
• Administer student-athlete athletic insurance claims efficiently.
• Develop and oversee the athletic training budget within institutional limits and supervise expenditure management.
• Supervise both professional and student athletic training personnel.
• Create and manage schedules for athletic training coverage during practices and competitions.
• Determine and enforce daily operational hours of the athletic training facilities.
• Ensure daily upkeep and maintenance of athletic training rooms and equipment located in the Aggie Gym.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the department.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree is mandatory.
• Board of Certification (BOC) credential is required.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is necessary.

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Prior athletic training experience at the collegiate level preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Proven organizational and administrative skills.
