About the Role
A well-established organization based in Dublin City Centre is looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their finance department on a permanent basis. This role offers an exciting chance for a driven finance professional to become part of a supportive team and contribute to the efficient management of financial operations. The position operates under a hybrid working model.
Responsibilities
- Aid in month-end closing procedures, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Manage general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Process and reconcile payroll data in accordance with company protocols.
- Prepare and investigate discrepancies in balance sheet reconciliations.
- Provide support for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting tasks.
- Oversee financial controls and contribute to the enhancement of processes.
- Support the broader finance team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Assist in the preparation for audits and ensure compliance with requirements.
Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in a finance or accounting capacity.
- A solid grasp of accounting principles and financial control mechanisms.
- Demonstrated experience in payroll processing and reconciliation.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving proficiencies.
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines.
- An Accounting Technician, ATI, or comparable qualification is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
