About the role
Loblaw Companies Limited is hiring an Asset Protection Representative in Kingston, Ontario, at 1048 Midland Ave. The role is part of a large asset protection function focused on reducing loss, protecting store assets, and helping create a safe and positive shopping environment. This position is suited to someone who is detail-focused, organized, calm under pressure, patient, and comfortable working on their own.
In this position, you will work closely with store leadership and use your safety, investigation, and loss-prevention expertise to support store operations and improve profitability. What you will do
- Help prevent theft and fraud by deterring, detecting, and apprehending incidents in retail locations.
- Work with other asset protection representatives on organized retail crime matters at the provincial or national level.
- Partner regularly with local police services.
- Carry out internal investigations and prepare evidence for court or arbitration when needed.
- Identify areas where shrink may occur through operational and compliance reviews.
- Strengthen relationships with store leadership through meetings and huddles, and coach colleagues on asset protection policies and procedures.
- Take part in store audits.
- Represent the store in community events.
- Work a flexible schedule across days, evenings, nights, and weekends, averaging 40 hours per week.
What the employer is looking for
- A valid provincial security guard license.
- Working knowledge of the Canadian Criminal Code, the Trespass to Property Act, and powers of arrest.
- Familiarity with CCTV and/or surveillance systems.
- Basic comfort using Windows-based programs such as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- A professional, friendly, and approachable manner.
- Strong initiative and integrity, especially in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Compensation
