Job description

Overview

The Asset Protection Associate serves an essential function in ensuring a safe, secure, and professional atmosphere for customers, employees, visitors, and vendors within the store. This role adheres strictly to Asset Protection protocols and displays professional conduct to minimize financial and physical losses, decrease product shrinkage, and contribute to the store's profitability. Through vigilance, awareness, and collaboration, the Associate safeguards individuals, merchandise, and the shopping experience.

Key Duties

  • Conduct daily walkthroughs of the store to maintain safety and security, ensuring doors, displays, and security devices operate correctly and taking necessary corrective actions.
  • Carry out investigations into incidents of financial and physical shrinkage, reporting findings to store leadership and escalating internal theft or organized retail crime cases to the Market Loss Prevention Manager per company guidelines.
  • Support emergency responses and evacuation procedures during incidents like fires, contributing to store operational teams as needed.
  • Perform lawful external apprehensions consistent with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Collect and communicate information from various sources, clearly presenting issues and conclusions to leadership and relevant parties.
  • Complete other responsibilities aligned with evolving Asset Protection priorities and business demands.
  • Remain flexible to work diverse shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure seamless store operation and customer service.

Challenges

  • Manage high workload in a fast-paced environment, especially during overnight hours, while maintaining focus and energy.
  • Handle large volumes of restocking and recovery tasks efficiently and accurately within tight timelines.
  • Meet physical demands such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting supplies up to 50 lbs., along with repetitive tasks like stocking and product organization with precision.

Compensation

The starting hourly pay rate for this role is $17.75.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
  • A valid Security Guard License is required.
