Role overview

This opportunity is shared on behalf of a partner employer that handles all applications and the subsequent hiring steps. The partner is seeking an Art Director/Creative Director who is based in the United States.

The role is ideal for a creative leader who combines brand thinking, visual storytelling, and commercial awareness. You will help define and strengthen the visual identity of a rapidly growing consumer brand across digital, retail, e-commerce, and experiential touchpoints. In this position, you will guide a design team, drive high-impact creative work, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver campaigns that support engagement and revenue growth. It is a remote-first role that offers flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to influence how the brand is experienced across many customer channels.

Key accountabilities

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of designers while encouraging collaboration, high standards, and ongoing professional development.
  • Create and roll out creative strategies for campaigns, product launches, content programs, and brand activations across DTC, retail, and marketplace channels.
  • Direct the development of visual assets for digital experiences, e-commerce storefronts, retail merchandising, point-of-sale collateral, and in-store signage and displays.
  • Turn complex product and technical details into clear, engaging brand stories that are easy to understand and visually compelling.
  • Oversee photo and video shoots, ensuring the creative direction is executed effectively and supports business goals.
  • Protect and evolve brand guidelines so that quality and consistency are maintained across customer-facing communications and experiences.
  • Work closely with marketing, social, influencer, and production teams to make sure creative output aligns with wider business priorities.
  • Coordinate with external agencies, freelance creatives, and production partners to expand creative capacity and deliver work efficiently.

Experience and qualifications

  • 7 to 10+ years of experience in art direction, visual design, or creative leadership, ideally in consumer, wellness, lifestyle, or similar sectors.
  • At least 3 years spent leading creative teams and managing designers in a fast-moving environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Art, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates idea-led campaigns and successful delivery across digital, retail, e-commerce, and physical environments.
  • Strong background in retail creative, including merchandising displays, point-of-purchase materials, and shopper-facing experiences.
  • Experience producing effective e-commerce and marketplace content, including product imagery and branded digital assets.
  • Advanced ability with Adobe Creative Cloud tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, plus Figma.
  • Solid understanding of brand building, visual communication, and customer-focused storytelling.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across functions.
  • Ability to combine strategic thinking with practical execution in a changing business environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for events, productions, and creative shoots.
