Role overview
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for growing revenue across an assigned territory, leading field sales staff, and strengthening relationships with customers, dealers, and vendors. The role also involves presenting offerings to prospects and current clients, reviewing team output, and preparing clear sales performance reports.
Core responsibilities
- Build sales within the assigned geographic market and support the field sales team in meeting targets.
- Conduct customer presentations for both new and existing accounts.
- Monitor the performance of sales representatives and provide guidance where needed.
- Prepare short, accurate sales reports for review and planning.
- Visit dealer outlets regularly to secure orders and collect payments according to company policy.
- Manage primary and secondary sales activities.
- Support the launch of new products and ensure effective placement in the market.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Track competitor movements and market trends closely.
- Build sales forecasts and create creative selling approaches, then assess how well they perform.
- Evaluate vendor capabilities and needs, and work toward long-term productive partnerships.
