Overview
Our client, a prominent grocery retailer with over four decades of growth and expansion across Europe, is seeking a seasoned Area Manager to supervise stores in Carlow and Portlaoise. This role demands a strategic, people-oriented leader adept at thriving in a dynamic retail setting. The successful candidate will have a significant opportunity to lead effective teams, enhance operational standards, and advance their career within a stable and expanding organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct management and leadership of all Store Managers across the designated district.
- Providing development, support, and coaching to Store Managers within your control area.
- Monitoring and optimizing inventory flow and stock management.
- Conducting district store visits alongside the Sales Executive to maintain operational quality.
- Performing routine financial audits, including cash management evaluations.
- Designing and executing annual operational plans for the district.
- Organizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and staffing frameworks for all stores within the district.
- Preparing for and engaging in Area Manager meetings to align on business goals and strategies.
Candidate Eligibility
- Possession or anticipated completion of a minimum 2.1 degree in any field or alternatively, a minimum of three years of managerial experience.
- Strong communication, planning, organizational, and analytical capabilities.
- Valid full, clean driving licence.
- A motivated, flexible, diligent, and well-organized leadership approach.
- Previous experience working in a fast-moving environment is essential.
- Keen interest in pursuing a long-term career in the retail sector.
Compensation and Benefits
- Initial salary of €78,000 for the Trainee Area Manager position.
- Salary progression opportunities ranging from €89,500 up to €121,000 within three years.
