Area Director

About the Role

Join one of the fastest expanding Data Centre engineering teams in the Middle East as the Area Director leading the Riyadh office for Black & White Engineering. This role involves more than operational leadership; you will be pivotal in shaping regional growth, leading a multidisciplinary team, fostering client relations, driving commercial success, and ensuring outstanding project delivery for some of the most technically demanding mission critical facilities worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and nurture a diverse engineering team.
• Ensure profitable project execution while upholding superior technical and quality standards.
• Formulate and implement the office business strategy in sync with regional goals.
• Establish and maintain enduring relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders within Saudi Arabia.
• Contribute to business development initiatives, secure new contracts, and uncover growth prospects.
• Oversee commercial aspects including financial forecasting, profitability, fee and risk management.
• Manage resource planning to guarantee efficient project completion.
• Lead recruitment, succession, and talent development to facilitate organizational expansion.
• Champion innovation, continual improvement, and operational excellence throughout the office.
• Represent Black & White Engineering at client meetings, industry forums, and professional events.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive leadership experience managing multidisciplinary MEP engineering teams.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale, complex building projects, preferably in Data Centres or mission critical settings.
• Strong commercial insight with expertise in project profitability, forecasting, and financial oversight.
• Skilled in developing client relationships and driving business growth.
• Exemplary leadership, coaching, and talent development abilities.
• Comprehensive understanding of project governance, quality, and risk management.
• Experience managing international projects and diverse teams.
• Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
• Chartered Engineer accreditation or active pursuit thereof is highly advantageous.
