A culture of collaboration, safety, and quality is paramount in the data center construction industry.
This role requires leading an onsite team in a matrixed structure, focusing on Safety, QAQC, and Project Controls (Cost + Schedule) to achieve delivery excellence and predictable results. The entire team, including the Area Director, will be dedicated exclusively to this campus and based onsite.
Responsibilities

- Collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external teams to achieve cross-program objectives for the project.
- Uphold Meta, Infra Data Centers, and DEC values, promoting a collaborative environment of partnership, teamwork, and growth for the project.
- Maintain consistent oversight across multiple teams assigned to various project functional areas and external teams.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and critical input to ensure predictable project delivery and success.
- Coordinate the requirements of multiple stakeholders for early phase turnovers within the program schedule.
- Cultivate productive and mutually beneficial relationships with strategic vendors, including General Contractors, Cabling Partners, Consultants, and Trade Partners.
- Set and communicate clear expectations for partnerships, focusing on optimizing value for Meta and providing strategic feedback based on internal stakeholder input to ensure successful project completion and long-term relationships.
- Manage, develop, and recruit a core team of full-time onsite staff, and support the growth and development of matrixed staff on site.
- Plan and hire contingent workforce staff as needed.
- Provide proactive feedback and performance management to ensure a high-functioning team.
- Negotiate construction contracts and change orders directly with contractors and vendors.
- Monitor project delivery updates, adherence to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and financial status proactively.
- Build trusted business relationships with all cross-functional teams to foster positive and collaborative working environments.
- Model and promote a high-performing, safety-focused culture across all internal and external teams involved in the project.
- Establish robust communication channels and cultivate relationships to influence the strategy of partner organizations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a comparable technical degree, coupled with at least 15 years of experience in project planning and construction management.
- Demonstrate experience with various construction contract delivery methods commonly utilized in the US and/or EMEA.
- Exhibit experience in the design and deployment of technical electrical and mechanical systems.
- Proven experience managing and developing direct employees, contractors, subcontractors, and vendor relationships, alongside familiarity with standard practices in the design and construction industry.
- Experience with greenfield site development and ground-up construction projects.
- Familiarity with local, state, domestic, and international construction building codes and health and safety requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling methodologies and familiarity with Primavera P6.
- A comprehensive understanding of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, data cabling, building management systems, and fire protection within a data center context.
- Demonstrated success in matrixed organizational structures.
