Role overview
This position leads credit operations for the Lucknow area with a strong focus on portfolio oversight, risk control, productivity improvement, and team leadership. The role requires close coordination with business and allied teams to ensure decisions are timely, policy-compliant, and aligned with the overall management direction.
Key result areas
The job expects the holder to define key results and supporting actions across up to 10 KRAs, with the following core focus areas:
- Portfolio management: Continuously monitor the region’s portfolio, spot problem areas that need urgent management attention, and ensure portfolio movement stays aligned with leadership expectations. Key quality indicators include delinquency, bounce rates, loss numbers, RCR, and file quality scores.
- Business and financial management: Adjust capacity planning according to business demand, identify risks arising from credit and process-related activities, and review bureau, rating-agency, and collection reports to support risk mitigation. Carry out periodic stress tests, especially in markets where real estate prices move sharply, and respond to external influences affecting the portfolio.
- Customer focus: Make decisions that balance customer needs with management directives, and improve operational efficiency by enabling decisions within committed timelines. The role also calls for a practical understanding of Prime LAP business in smaller towns, including tier 3 and tier 4 markets.
- People and team management: Provide regular training and timely communication on policies and underwriting standards. Supervise direct reports through ongoing engagement on portfolio performance, process controls, and supervisory reviews. Work closely with business and allied teams to absorb and implement changes.
- Productivity management and improvement: Treat productivity as a major deliverable, monitor the number of files handled each month, and drive initiatives that improve productivity at every level.
Leadership expectations
The role needs strong interpersonal ability to manage a team of 10+ risk managers and the capability to mentor 3 to 4 middle-layer managers for their long-term career growth.
