Job description
About the Role
Ström Architects is looking to recruit a skilled and driven Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join our Lymington studio. We specialize in bespoke, design-focused residential projects that combine interior design and architecture. This position offers a unique chance to work on live projects throughout all phases, gaining comprehensive hands-on experience with various building types and stages, from initial concepts and planning to technical detailing, coordination with consultants, and construction support.
Key Responsibilities
Daily tasks include assisting in the development of concept designs and detailed drawings for bespoke residences and luxury developments. You will collaborate closely with project teams to deliver innovative, high-quality designs and assist in preparing presentation materials and technical documentation. Under senior guidance, you will communicate directly with consultants and other stakeholders and engage actively in design conversations, studio initiatives, and project reviews. Additionally, initial responsibilities include supporting the practice’s marketing efforts by contributing to awards submissions, maintaining the company website and architecture platforms, and participating in social media campaigns.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate holds a RIBA Part 2 qualification or an equivalent credential, possesses a keen design eye and meticulous attention to detail, and demonstrates strong enthusiasm for producing cutting-edge, quality architectural work. Proficiency in 3D modeling is essential, with additional experience in SketchUp and ArchiCAD considered advantageous but not mandatory. We value curiosity, proactive attitude, and excellent communication skills. Marketing or communications experience is a plus but not required.

You will become part of a friendly, supportive studio environment that prioritizes your professional growth. We offer structured mentoring and practical project experience to aid your Part 3 qualification progress, alongside continuing professional development programs and access to learning tools.
