Job description

Role Overview

Skyline Living is hiring an apartment building maintenance worker to support the upkeep, cleanliness, and safety of residential properties in West Kelowna, British Columbia. This role is performed entirely at the work location and cannot be done remotely.

Language

English proficiency is required.

Education

A college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program lasting 3 months to less than 1 year is required, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Experience

Applicants should have 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant experience.

Key Duties

  • Keep common areas such as hallways, stairs, and floors clean by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing.
  • Use industrial vacuum equipment to clear debris, dirt, scraps, and other waste.
  • Remove garbage and empty waste containers.
  • Clean windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
  • Carry out small fixes and adjustments on heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and bring in qualified tradespeople for larger repairs.
  • Arrange and coordinate contractors for maintenance and repair work.
  • Complete minor appliance repairs.
  • Carry out routine safety and security inspections.
  • Show apartments and office spaces to prospective tenants.
  • Lift and move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Handle routine upkeep tasks such as painting and drywall patching.
  • Water and care for plants, lawns, and gardens.
  • Sanitize bathrooms and fixtures.
  • Work independently with limited supervision.
  • Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
