Job description
About Secretlab
Secretlab is a global gaming chair company with more than one million users worldwide. The brand’s strongest markets include the United States, Europe, and Singapore, which is also its headquarters.
Role Overview
The team is hiring an Analyst or Senior Analyst in Business Intelligence to create and support BI products such as dashboards, reports, and data sources that help internal teams make decisions. This role is centered on understanding the real business need behind each request, defining the right metrics, and delivering well-scoped work within agreed timelines.
You will work closely with the Data team, especially Data Engineers, across the full delivery cycle. That includes shaping requirements clearly, contributing to discussions on data marts and source design, validating results in UAT, and ensuring the final output is ready before it reaches stakeholders. You will support teams such as Logistics, Marketing, Finance, E-commerce, Ops, and CRM by translating their reporting needs into reliable BI outputs.
Quality and clarity are key in this role. You will verify data before publishing, document dashboard logic and metric definitions, follow naming and certification standards, and raise any issues you discover so BI outputs remain consistent and dependable.
Key Work Areas
- Create new dashboards and visualizations for business requests, with a strong focus on product launches and campaign reporting.
- Maintain existing dashboards by fixing broken visuals, updating metric logic, and improving performance.
- Partner with Data Engineers to define data mart requirements, validate outputs in UAT, and confirm accuracy before release.
- Lead short data-literacy sessions and walkthroughs to help stakeholders use self-service reporting more effectively.
- Review incoming requests, clarify scope, estimate effort, and organize delivery priorities sensibly.
- Join stakeholder meetings early to identify reporting needs before they become urgent.
- Document metric definitions, logic, and dashboard details in Confluence as work is completed.
- Check your own work carefully before handoff, including filters, totals, joins, and formatting against the definition of done.
Business Intelligence Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards, reports, and data sources that business users can rely on for decision-making.
- Turn routine business questions into clear analytical deliverables by clarifying the objective, agreeing on the right metrics, and delivering within deadlines.
- Validate source data before publication, ensuring numbers, definitions, and presentation are accurate and consistent.
- Document workbook logic, metric definitions, and lineage so the work remains maintainable for others.
- Promote self-service usage by answering metric questions, running walkthroughs, and helping users find insights independently.
- Identify data quality issues, outdated sources, and broken dashboards proactively.
- Administer Tableau Server, including access management, permissions, performance monitoring, platform configuration, and uptime support.
Stakeholder and Delivery Responsibilities
- Work directly with business teams to understand reporting needs and convert them into deliverables.
- Write clear Jira tickets and dashboard requirements that are easy for engineers and reviewers to follow.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers from requirement definition through mart and source design discussions to end-to-end validation in UAT.
- Adjust the level of detail in your communication depending on whether you are speaking with analysts, managers, or senior leaders.
- Use feedback constructively, iterate quickly, and close the loop with stakeholders after changes are delivered.
- Support BI governance by consistently following naming conventions, certified source standards, and dashboard guidelines, while flagging any gaps.
Technical Requirements
- Strong Tableau expertise, including complex calculations such as LODs, a broad range of chart types, dashboard design, and good workbook hygiene.
- Experience administering Tableau Server, including user and permission management, performance monitoring, and platform upkeep.
- Solid SQL skills, including joins, window functions, and aggregations in a data warehouse environment, with the ability to troubleshoot incorrect query results.
- Working understanding of data modelling, including fact and dimension tables, grain, and reporting marts.
- Comfort using exploratory analysis tools such as Python, R, or notebooks.
- Familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or BigQuery is advantageous.
- Additional exposure to Power BI, Looker, dbt, Git, or Jira-based delivery workflows is a plus.
Personal Qualities
- Curious about the business problem behind a request and motivated to understand the reason before building the output.
- Highly detail-oriented and focused on quality, with low tolerance for inaccurate dashboards or numbers.
- Open, collaborative, and comfortable asking clarifying questions early as well as giving and receiving feedback.
- Able to explain ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Quick to learn new tools, business areas, and working conventions.
- Dependable with deadlines and willing to raise risks early instead of missing timelines silently.
