Job description

Job purpose

This role is responsible for coordinating aircraft turnarounds with airport authorities, service providers, and airline flight crews so departures happen safely and on schedule. The dispatcher holds control of the turnaround process, makes sure all tasks are completed within the airline’s procedures, and uses influence where needed to keep operations on track. A major part of the job is managing aircraft weight and balance while strictly following safety, security, and regulatory requirements.

Key accountabilities

  • Oversee weight and balance or load planning for different aircraft types across multiple airlines, always aligned with safety, security, and airline standards.
  • Verify weight and balance compliance by calculating loads and distributing payloads so aircraft operations remain safe and efficient.
  • Plan payload and ensure load distribution is correctly arranged.
  • Direct, supervise, and influence the aircraft turnaround process so every stakeholder contributes safely and on time.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with all relevant parties involved in the turnaround.
  • Lead EASG teams during turnaround activities with a positive, solution-oriented approach that supports efficiency.
  • Stay proactive in daily operations and make sure passengers and airlines receive the best possible service experience.
  • Make tactical decisions when required, including decisions that affect the safe and timely departure of the aircraft.
  • Identify possible process delays that may affect the PTS, and update TOBT after taking all reasonable steps to reduce or avoid the delay.
  • Ensure all parties work safely, address unsafe actions or practices, and report them appropriately.
  • Assign delay codes for off-schedule departures only after completing a thorough review of all contributing factors, and provide useful reporting that supports future service improvements.

Qualification and experience

  • Very strong written and spoken English skills.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role involving load control or aircraft weight and balance.
  • Good understanding of aircraft weight and balance principles.
  • Load control knowledge is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with emergency procedures is expected.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Must hold a valid UAE driving license, or a valid home-country license that is approved for conversion in the UAE.
  • Knowledge of dangerous goods handling and storage is beneficial, and previous DGR certification is preferred.
