Role Overview: Aircraft Detailer
The Aircraft Detailer at Vista Aircraft Maintenance Farnborough is vital in upholding outstanding aircraft presentation standards. The role involves comprehensive detailing duties affecting both aesthetic appeal and operational efficiency, including interior deep cleans, leather conditioning, carpet care, brightwork polishing, and exterior paint restoration. Precision, adherence to safety protocols, and teamwork in a fast-paced hangar are key aspects of this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed cleaning services: light and deep interior cleaning, leather treatment, carpet extraction and spot cleaning, brightwork polishing, and paint cutting and restoration.
- Thoroughly clean interior cabin components: seats, windows, window shades, seat frames, trays, monitors, cup holders, and vacuuming under seats and along aisles.
- Manage exterior detailing: clean fuselage entrances and windows, wings, flaps, stabilizers, elevators, cockpit windshields, landing gear, and engine thrust reverser areas.
- Use orbital buffer machinery for polishing leading edges and metallic surfaces following training.
- Carry out scratch and corrosion removal through cutting back processes.
- Learn and adapt to detailing requirements relevant to different aircraft types.
- Maintain and correctly use company-provided equipment.
- Follow all corporate policies, procedures, and especially health and safety guidelines.
- Ensure all workspaces and hangar areas are cleaned and secured after completion.
- Undertake any other tasks aligned with the role to ensure comprehensive aircraft detailing services at VAMF.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possess a full and clean UK driving license.
- Exhibit high attention to detail in work activities.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Work effectively within team environments.
- Maintain excellent time management capabilities.
- Understand and comply with workplace health and safety responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of human factors, including human performance and limitations.
- Ability to interpret work orders, work cards, and applicable maintenance documentation.
