Mitre 10 MEGA Whanganui is a locally owned and operated business and part of one of New Zealand’s best-known retail brands. The company’s culture is built around being customer-focused, working as one team, acting with honesty and fairness, and continuously aiming for high standards.
This position is for an experienced Administration Professional to join a compact but effective administration team. The role is central to a major business systems change and will help keep daily financial and operational activity running smoothly during the transition to a new SAP platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.
- Carry out financial processing and maintain accurate data records.
- Assist with credit claim processing for items that are faulty or damaged.
- Reconcile and balance the day’s banking.
- Support the training, onboarding, and upskilling of team members as the new operating system is introduced.
- Provide help with customer account matters while system changes are being implemented.
What the Role Requires
To perform well in this role, you should bring practical administrative and systems experience, along with a flexible mindset for change. Familiarity with POS environments, stock handling processes, and invoicing is important. Experience supporting organisational change, especially system rollouts or implementations, will be valuable. Knowledge of SAP is considered an advantage.
You should also be confident guiding and coaching others, comfortable managing multiple tasks at once, and able to work to deadlines without losing accuracy. A strong eye for detail, dependable follow-through, and a practical, solutions-oriented attitude are essential. A clean credit history is a mandatory requirement.
Working Arrangements and Benefits
- This is a permanent full-time position.
- Work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Salary will be competitive and reflective of your experience.
- You will receive generous team and store benefits.
- The role offers the chance to contribute to an important business transformation.
- You will be part of a supportive workplace that is closely connected to the local community.
