Job description

About the Company

Riviera Hardware Holdings Ltd is the largest business group in the Mitre 10 network and is proudly owned and run in New Zealand. Starting with a single store in Warkworth in 2009, the group has expanded to include Mitre 10 MEGA Albany, New Lynn, Whangaparaoa, and Silverdale, as well as Columbus Coffee cafés, a distribution centre, and a frame and truss manufacturing plant.

Mitre 10 has supported New Zealanders with practical home and trade solutions since 1974, blending national brand strength with a hands-on retail approach. Mitre 10 MEGA Albany is a busy, high-traffic store where work moves quickly, customer service is central, and every shift can be different.

About the Role

Two part-time team member positions are available to help cover important trading days across the store. The roles are customer-facing and practical, with a focus on helping shoppers make confident choices for their homes while keeping store operations running smoothly.

Shift Availability

These positions come with fixed roster requirements and the days listed below cannot be changed. Applicants must be able to commit to one of the following:

  • Saturday for a full day, or
  • Sunday and Monday for full days, with both days required and not split apart

What You’ll Need to Bring

The role suits people who already have interest or experience in at least one of these areas:

  • Interior design or professional home styling
  • Outdoor living and dining
  • Lighting, electrical, or home technology

You will also need to be comfortable talking with customers, giving practical guidance, staying active on your feet, and working reliably within a busy retail environment.

These roles are best suited to applicants who can show real product interest or knowledge, and preference will be given to people whose experience aligns clearly with the roster needs.

Benefits and Development

You can expect a range of workplace benefits, learning opportunities, and team recognition initiatives. Staff may be eligible for a purchase scheme at selected Mitre 10 stores, discounted food and drinks at the in-store Columbus Café, and savings on shopping, travel, dining, and more through the perks app.

There is also ongoing learning through the eLearning platform, opportunities to broaden product knowledge, and the possibility of future movement within the store or across the wider Riviera group.

Recognition includes monthly acknowledgment linked to company values, long-service recognition, annual performance awards, and a team culture that values contribution and reliability.

How to Apply

If you enjoy helping customers, have a genuine interest in home improvement or design, and can meet the availability requirements above, this opportunity could be a strong fit for you.

Leave it if you'd like a reply — we won't use it for anything else.
