About the role

Skyline Enterprises is looking for a full-time Activities Operator in Queenstown, Otago. This is a permanent, year-round position focused on keeping gondola, guest services, luge, and mountain bike operations running smoothly for visitors.

The work is hands-on and varied, covering chairlift operation, photo and ticket sales, mountain bike loading, trail upkeep, guest guidance, and safety support. The ideal person will be upbeat, service-oriented, comfortable in a busy tourism setting, and able to bring a friendly, can-do approach to every shift.

Responsibilities

  • Support the daily running of gondola, guest services, luge, and mountain bike activities.
  • Operate chairlifts and assist with safe, efficient guest movement.
  • Handle photo and ticket sales.
  • Load mountain bikes and assist riders as needed.
  • Carry out trail maintenance tasks.
  • Provide clear instructions and safety guidance to customers.
  • Deliver a consistently positive experience to guests.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of chairlift experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine customer-first attitude.
  • Interest in working in tourism and hospitality.
  • Practical downhill mountain biking ability.
  • Enjoyment of working with a diverse, energetic team.
  • Good understanding of customer service standards.
  • Willingness to follow workplace health and safety procedures, including random drug and alcohol testing.
