Role overview
Xeinadin is looking for a Trainee Accountant to join its Grimsby office on a permanent, office-based basis. This opportunity is designed for someone at the start of their accountancy career who wants practical experience while working towards a recognised professional qualification. The role offers day-to-day exposure to core accounting work such as bookkeeping, VAT submissions, year-end accounts, tax returns and payroll support, all within a collaborative team environment.
The business was formed in 2019 through the coming together of several established advisory and accountancy practices across the UK and Ireland. Its focus is on delivering trusted, local advice to SMEs, supported by strong working relationships and shared expertise across a network of regional offices.
Key duties
- Support the preparation of limited company and sole trader accounts, making sure the work is accurate and aligned with accounting standards.
- Help manage business tax and self-assessment submissions so clients meet deadlines and regulatory obligations.
- Prepare and file VAT returns, while also carrying out bookkeeping tasks and keeping financial records organised and current.
- Work with clients to collect the information needed and produce management reports that help explain their financial position.
- Carry out bank reconciliations and assist with balance sheet items to ensure the records remain complete and correct.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will be a recent graduate or college leaver who is interested in pursuing an accountancy qualification such as AAT and is ready to learn on the job. This is suited to someone who wants to build a long-term career in accountancy and gain practical experience in a professional setting.

Pay and benefits
The salary is described as competitive.
