About the Role
An opportunity has opened for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join a well-known English fashion brand. The position offers hands-on exposure to accounting and reporting work in a professional setting, with room to build practical experience.
The role is based at the London head office and sits within the Finance Team, reporting to the Finance Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle large volumes of invoices and credit notes, making sure they are approved, coded correctly, and entered into SAP.
- Reconcile stock purchase orders and goods received notes against incoming supplier invoices.
- Perform statement reconciliations across multiple purchase accounts.
- Oversee purchasing of goods and services from external suppliers by issuing purchase order numbers.
- Carry out monthly reconciliation of supplier statements.
- Serve as a contact point for communication between accounts, suppliers, and stores.
- Process bank postings related to outgoing payments.
- Administer company credit card statements and confirm that receipts and purchase details are submitted.
- Support the handling of staff expense claims.
- Complete additional finance and administrative tasks as needed.
Profile and Key Skills
- A background in finance, business administration, or accounting would be beneficial.
- Strong computer literacy, with advanced ability in Word and Excel.
- Clear communication skills and a strong head for numbers.
- Very high attention to detail, good organisational habits, and the ability to stay calm and effective under pressure.
- Comfortable working on your own when needed and using your own initiative.
- Interest in working within fashion and retail.
