Accounting Specialist

Job Overview

We are seeking an Accounting Specialist for a contract role based in Jebel Ali, Dubai. This position involves comprehensive management of accounting functions including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger maintenance, payroll processing, VAT filing, and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire accounting cycle including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and month-end closing processes.
• Manage vendor payments, customer collections, perform bank and account reconciliations.
• Conduct monthly payroll operations, Botswana Wages Protection System (WPS) submissions, reimbursement processing, and record payroll-related transactions.
• Support VAT compliance tasks, tax documentation, and adherence to JAFZA regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate financial records such as accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset schedules.
• Contribute to budgeting procedures, audit assistance, year-end closings, and preparation of financial reports.
• Guarantee accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely finalization of all financial activities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Between four to six years of comprehensive accounting experience in the UAE, including full-cycle accounting.
• Proven practical proficiency with SAP accounting software is essential.
• Familiarity with Bayzat or comparable UAE payroll systems preferred.
• Strong understanding of UAE VAT laws, WPS processes, and JAFZA compliance.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities and meticulous attention to financial detail.
• Effective communication skills and fluency in English language.
