Job description
Role overview
This is a senior accounting leadership opportunity with a fast-scaling global business serving several regions. The role is open to candidates based in Canada and sits at the center of a multi-entity finance structure. You will own the accounting function end to end, balancing day-to-day technical accounting with broader improvements in process design, controls, and reporting. The position is well suited to someone who likes to build, streamline, and strengthen systems rather than simply maintain them.
Key accountabilities
- Run complete accounting operations across accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting for multiple legal entities.
- Handle consolidations across entities and currencies while working within GAAP and/or IFRS requirements.
- Spot bottlenecks and create scalable accounting workflows that can support fast business expansion.
- Drive automation and AI-enabled enhancements to improve speed, accuracy, and efficiency in finance processes.
- Guide, support, and develop a distributed accounting team while encouraging accountability and growth.
- Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors, including documentation preparation, coordination, and follow-through on audit requests.
- Partner with internal stakeholders across functions to improve financial visibility and support business decisions.
Experience and skills needed
- Strong progressive accounting background of 5 to 8+ years, with CPA or an equivalent qualification preferred.
- Hands-on experience managing accounting activities across multiple entities and regions, especially North America, EMEA, and/or APAC.
- Deep knowledge of full-cycle accounting, reporting, and consolidation procedures.
- Prior leadership experience with remote or distributed accounting teams, ideally for 3+ years or more.
- Proven ability to create and scale accounting processes in lean, fast-growing environments.
- Advanced Excel capability and solid ERP experience; familiarity with Workday Financials is a strong advantage.
- Effective leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills in a global environment.
- Analytical and improvement-oriented mindset with interest in automation and innovation.
Compensation and benefits
- Salary range of CAD 120,000 to CAD 165,000.
- Performance-linked incentives based on company and individual contribution.
- Flexible work setup with remote-first options.
- Medical, dental, and wellness coverage.
- Paid vacation time and supportive leave provisions.
- Opportunity to shape and expand global accounting operations in a high-growth setting.
- Exposure to modern finance tools, automation, and AI-supported accounting workflows.
- Clear scope for professional development and leadership growth.
