Job overview
We are hiring an Accountant for a long-established manufacturing business in Eberswalde, Germany. This is an on-site, full-time position for a mid-level professional who is comfortable working in a structured environment and contributing to an international finance team. The role suits someone with strong German language ability, solid knowledge of HGB accounting, and a track record of handling day-to-day accounting operations with accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Check incoming supplier invoices to make sure they are correct and meet compliance requirements.
- Handle both manual and system-based postings to the general ledger, including entries related to fixed assets.
- Record bank movements, grants, and other financial transactions as needed.
- Process travel expense claims and reconcile company credit card statements.
- Post sales invoices connected to other operating income.
- Work with vendors to sort out and correct invoice mismatches.
- Support the monthly closing cycle and assist with annual financial statements.
- Prepare statistical reports and contribute to internal reporting needs.
- Review management costs and outgoing payments for reporting and analysis purposes.
Requirements
- A completed university degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar discipline.
- At least 5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing company.
- Strong command of German accounting rules under HGB.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with MS Dynamics will be considered an advantage.
- Fluency in German and English at B2 level or higher.
- Additional language ability in Polish, Ukrainian, or Russian is beneficial.
- A careful, well-organized working style with a proactive approach to financial tasks.
