About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and commercially astute Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team. This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities, encompassing technical accounting, financial reporting, business partnering, audit support, and driving continuous improvement. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will be instrumental in upholding stringent financial reporting standards and developing scalable accounting processes to support Connexa's ongoing growth. A key focus will be on IFRS 16 lease accounting, ensuring balance sheet accuracy, implementing robust financial controls, and providing technical accounting guidance throughout the organization.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including statutory filings and external audit procedures.
• Manage and maintain IFRS 16 lease accounting processes and controls, covering lease modifications, reassessments, indexation adjustments, and technical accounting analysis.
• Enhance balance sheet integrity, enforce reconciliation discipline, and refine the monthly closing procedures.
• Contribute to the development of internal controls, optimization of finance systems, and automation of financial processes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver financial insights and support operational and compliance objectives.
• Serve as a key advisor to the Head of Finance on technical accounting and regulatory matters.

Requirements

• Possess a CA or CPA qualification.
• Accumulate over 5 years of experience in financial reporting or accounting positions.
• Demonstrate a profound understanding of IFRS and financial reporting mandates.
• Have prior experience with IFRS 16 lease accounting, or a strong desire to deepen expertise in this area.
• Exhibit confidence in supporting audits, reconciliations, and compliance activities.
• Apply a structured, detail-oriented approach with sound judgment and a strong sense of ownership.
• Effectively communicate complex technical accounting concepts to diverse audiences.
• Maintain a proactive, collaborative attitude and a commitment to ongoing process enhancement.
