Job description
Role overview
This position sits within a rapidly expanding fresh produce company that sources and distributes premium produce throughout Ireland and overseas markets. The business partners with growers and supply partners across several countries and places a strong emphasis on dependable customer relationships, consistent product standards, and quick responses to market demand.
As the company continues to scale, it is seeking a commercially focused Account Manager who can strengthen client relationships, spot growth opportunities, and contribute to profitable sales performance.
What makes this role different
This is a hands-on commercial role rather than a standard account management position. The ideal person will be energetic, business-minded, and naturally entrepreneurial, with the ability to identify opportunities, negotiate confidently, protect margins, and build strong connections across the market.
The role may suit an ambitious graduate with strong commercial instincts, someone already working in fresh produce trading, procurement, sales support, account management, or FMCG, or an experienced commercial professional looking for a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee and grow customer relationships across retail, wholesale, and foodservice sectors.
- Spot opportunities to improve sales results and profitability.
- Collaborate closely with procurement and supply chain colleagues.
- Develop strong commercial relationships with both customers and suppliers.
- Handle negotiations around pricing, promotions, and commercial terms.
- Track market movements, price changes, and competitor activity.
- Proactively pursue new business and expansion opportunities.
- Coordinate with operations and logistics teams to support service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Represent the organisation professionally in meetings and customer-facing discussions.
What the employer is looking for
The company is seeking someone with a commercial mindset, good negotiation ability, and an energetic, proactive style. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are important, along with the ability to think fast and stay effective in a busy environment.
Experience in fresh produce, FMCG, food trading, or wholesale would be highly valued. Candidates should also demonstrate accuracy, customer focus, a professional manner, and a polished presentation. A full driving licence is preferred.
What is being offered
- The chance to join a growing, entrepreneurial business.
- Clear opportunities for career advancement.
- Exposure to international sourcing and trading activity.
- A supportive environment with strong commercial focus.
- A competitive salary, based on experience.
