Job description
About the Company
OpenTable, a Booking Holdings company, has spent more than 25 years helping restaurants succeed. With a network that includes millions of diners and over 60,000 restaurant partners, the company provides technology that helps venues manage reservations, improve front-of-house operations, and create better guest experiences. As part of a global business, employees contribute directly to how the company serves restaurants and diners around the world.
Role Overview
This position is focused on winning new restaurant partners for OpenTable’s dining network through a consultative sales approach. The role is field-based in Cologne and includes a mix of in-person meetings across the territory and remote work from home. Because there is no office in Germany, much of the week will be spent meeting restaurant operators face to face, building trust, and closing new opportunities across the region.
The role requires professional fluency in both German and English, along with the ability to establish credibility with restaurant decision-makers in a competitive market.
Compensation
The package includes a base salary of €60,000 plus uncapped commission, with on-target earnings of approximately €100,000 or more.
Responsibilities
- Prospect, engage, and convert new restaurant partners within the assigned territory to expand OpenTable’s network.
- Run tailored product demos both face to face and online, showing how OpenTable can solve each partner’s specific needs.
- Develop strong relationships with restaurant operators, share relevant market knowledge, and help them see new ways to grow their business.
- Create territory plans, maintain an active pipeline, forecast accurately, and handle contracts through Salesforce.
- Consistently hit or surpass monthly and quarterly goals for acquisitions and revenue while managing objections and competitive challenges.
- Relay customer feedback to internal teams and represent OpenTable at networking events and within the hospitality community.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in consultative B2B enterprise sales.
- Professional-level fluency in German and English.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets in a consultative environment.
- Strong skills in discovery, negotiation, presentation, and time management, with the ability to use data to support a business case.
- Hands-on experience with Google Workspace and Salesforce.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly within Germany for a field-based position.
Preferred Background
- Experience selling software, hospitality technology, payments, or similar solutions.
- Exposure to restaurant operations or sales in the food and beverage sector.
- Experience using customer and market insights to shape sales strategy and product feedback.
- Background representing a company at industry events and networking functions.
- Genuine interest in hospitality and technology, paired with a collaborative and learning-focused mindset.
Benefits
- Flexible working arrangements, including the ability to work from almost anywhere for up to 20 days per year.
- 30 vacation days annually, plus two days for wedding leave, one moving day, and your birthday off.
- An annual company-wide recharge week when the whole business fully disconnects.
- Company-funded therapy through Spring Health.
- Headspace subscription.
- Employee Assistance Programme with 24/7 GP access, legal support, and additional services.
- Income protection and life assurance.
- Development Dollars to support learning and growth.
- Leadership development opportunities.
- Access to thousands of on-demand courses and learning materials.
- Paid volunteer days.
- Paid parental leave.
- Competitive pension contributions.
- Employee Resource Groups and inclusive communities.
Work Style and Location
This is a Cologne-based field role with regular travel across the territory. The schedule is designed for a global team environment, so while most responsibilities follow standard business hours, some communication outside normal working time may be needed to coordinate with international colleagues, support restaurant partners, or handle urgent issues. Local laws and regulations will always be respected.
Additional Information
Applicants should submit their resume in English. OpenTable also supports workplace accommodations during the hiring process or on the job for anyone who needs them.
Inclusion
The company emphasizes a culture where different perspectives are welcomed and everyone can contribute. The goal is to build a team that reflects the diversity of the diners and restaurants it serves.
