Job description
Role Overview
Under the supervision of the Warehouse and Yard Supervisor, the Warehouse Associate will support daily supply operations at the site, aligning with the priorities of the Supply & Logistics team. This role involves performing numerous warehouse tasks such as loading, unloading, processing freight, receiving, issuing, storing, handling, packaging, and ensuring timely dispatch of goods. A major focus is maintaining workplace health and safety at the highest standard. The associate will also be accountable for security of warehouse premises, resources, equipment, and sustainability practices. Candidates with a strong background in warehousing, transport, and logistics—particularly from oil & gas, mining, supply, or transport sectors—are preferred.
Core Responsibilities
- Comply fully with all legislation related to warehousing, handling, and shipping.
- Maintain precise stock control, paying close attention to detail and utilizing warehouse management systems to ensure accuracy.
- Safeguard inventory by accurately managing receipt, issuance, transfer, and dispatch of stock and non-stock items to relevant parties.
- Perform regular cycle counts of stock, identify discrepancies, and maintain correct stock records.
- Coordinate with internal customers, suppliers, and transport vendors to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
- Execute duties assigned by supervisors promptly, following documented or verbal instructions.
- Carry out loading and unloading activities, understanding the 'Chain of Responsibility' requirements and report any non-compliance while ensuring corrective measures are taken.
- Manage receipt and dispatch of goods in ways that are safe, efficient, accurate, and cost-effective.
- Keep detailed records concerning storage and transportation of hazardous or dangerous goods.
Candidate Requirements
- Certificate or Diploma in Warehousing and Logistics advantageous.
- Possession of an LF forklift license.
- Valid C Class Driver's License.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in supply chain warehousing and logistics roles within gas, mining, oil, supply, or transport industries.
- Proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal, alongside organizational, literacy, and numeracy abilities.
- Demonstrated problem-solving capability and efficient time management skills.
- Knowledge of ERP platforms and transport booking software, with SAP experience considered a benefit.
- Clear understanding of 'Chain of Responsibility' and how it applies to roles within the supply chain.
