Transport Planner

Overview

Join our Transport Planning and Strategic Advisory Business Unit in the Middle East as a qualified Transport Planner with 5 to 7 years of experience. Candidates must hold a relevant degree and possess between 3 to 5 years of experience in traffic engineering, transport planning, and traffic modelling within the Middle East region.

Role Responsibilities

• Contribute to diverse transport planning projects including large-scale transport master plans, traffic impact studies, and multidisciplinary planning initiatives for both public and private clients.
• Apply knowledge of transport planning, traffic engineering, and travel demand theories.
• Demonstrate familiarity with Middle Eastern transport planning standards and practices through relevant project involvement.
• Understand the importance of transport planning for development access and citywide mobility frameworks.
• Conduct junction analyses supporting traffic impact assessments.
• Assist in compiling reports covering existing condition evaluations, trip generation, junction analysis, and parking studies.
• Communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written.
• Display quick learning agility to acquire new skills from various sources.
• Operate autonomously with limited supervision.
• Possess some experience with project and financial management.
• Support the growth of Atkins Transport Planning services and contribute to business development efforts.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or an equivalent qualification is mandatory.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in traffic engineering and transport planning.
• Familiarity with both Middle Eastern and international transport planning standards and protocols.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• A master's degree in transport planning or a related discipline is preferred.
