Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive theoretical and practical training on integrated circuit (IC) manufacturing processes including wafer handling, die attach, wire bonding, flip-chip, encapsulation, trimming, forming, singulation, electrical testing, burn-in, and final testing.
- Instruct trainees on operating semiconductor equipment, tool handling, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
- Educate on cleanroom procedures, electrostatic discharge (ESD) control, contamination prevention, and safety protocols.
- Explain the IC manufacturing workflow from wafer to final packaging, including yield, defect analysis, and failure mechanisms.
- Facilitate hands-on labs, simulations, and demonstrations aligned with the OSAT curriculum and organize practice assessments to prepare trainees for OSAT/NSQF skill certification.
- Uphold quality systems compliance such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and ISO standards relevant to IC manufacturing.
- Manage maintenance, calibration, and readiness of training equipment, ESD stations, and consumables.
- Monitor and document trainee attendance, performance, and skill progression.
- Assist internal and external assessors during certification assessments.
- Provide orientation on industry expectations, shift work culture, and shop floor discipline.
- Collaborate with industry partners, assessment agencies, and placement coordinators when needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or ITI in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or Semiconductor Technology fields.
- Certifications such as OSAT, NSQF, or Semiconductor Skill Certification are preferred.
- One to five years of practical experience in IC manufacturing, semiconductor assembly & testing, or electronic manufacturing environments.
- Experience working in cleanroom or ESD-controlled settings highly advantageous.
- Experience in training or mentoring is a plus.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
- Understanding of semiconductor assembly and testing processes.
- Familiarity with IC packaging types including DIP, QFN, BGA, and CSP.
- Knowledge of ESD standards, cleanroom protocols, and contamination control methods.
- Basic insight into yield analysis, defect identification, and failure modes.
- Ability to interpret process flow diagrams, SOP documentation, and operational manuals.
- Competency in basic computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes.
