About the Role

This position is part of the Data Acquisition and Test Engineering Tools team and plays a critical role in developing reliable and scalable software solutions for the production of next-generation modem technologies. The role involves collaboration across product design, test engineering, and manufacturing teams to facilitate high-volume production of advanced connectivity products.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain software tools, frameworks, and applications for both Windows and cloud platforms supporting data acquisition and test automation processes.
- Develop comprehensive software solutions covering presentation, application, business logic, and data access layers.
- Implement robust, scalable, and well-documented software utilizing CI/CD pipelines and agile methodologies.
- Standardize test software frameworks across production environments to ensure consistency.
- Assist test engineering teams in adopting modern technologies to upgrade or replace existing test solutions.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including electrical, optical, systems, and R&D to define software requirements and specifications.
- Share best practices and provide technical guidance to teams supporting process and test automation.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of professional experience in object-oriented software development, preferably with C# and .NET technologies.
- Hands-on experience with serverless and cloud-based solutions, ideally on AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Proficient with source control management, CI/CD tools, and peer code review processes; experience with Git, SVN, Bamboo, and Artifactory preferred.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting and debugging complex software systems.
- Experience working with web technologies including TypeScript, Angular, SCSS, and ASP.NET.
- Competent in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
- Knowledgeable in test-driven development practices.
- Understanding of user experience design principles.
- Familiar with software design patterns and data structures fundamentals.
- Experience using agile development tools such as Jira.
- Exposure to data science methodologies and concepts.

- Highly self-motivated, organized, and eager to learn new skills and technologies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Effective at managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
- An innovative mindset with curiosity to apply new technologies to solve challenges.
- Industry knowledge in instrumentation, optics, or telecommunications is advantageous.
- Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this Ottawa-based role ranges from $76,700 to $122,500 annually. Compensation is structured to reflect the candidate's skills, experience, market factors, and location. Non-sales employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, while sales roles qualify for commissions.
