Role Purpose
The Technical Support Officer within the Network Operations Center (NOC) ensures optimal operation and maintenance of the network infrastructure by delivering timely technical support and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network performance continuously, addressing issues and anomalies swiftly to maintain seamless operations.
- Respond to technical queries and resolve network-related challenges effectively.
- Operate and supervise systems, applications, networks, and telecommunication lines usage.
- Handle fault responses and troubleshooting including incident and problem management; identify abnormalities and resolve or escalate as necessary.
- Execute user service requests adhering to Quality Management System standards.
- Provide technical assistance during disaster recovery efforts, contingency tests, system maintenance, software installations, and network equipment troubleshooting.
- Oversee environmental controls such as UPS and air-conditioning within the data center to safeguard equipment.
- Act as the physical security controller for the data center, ensuring appropriate security protocols are maintained daily.
- Manage and monitor inventory like storage media and stationery.
- Generate reports related to inventory and system statistics.
- Commit to working 24/7 on rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Fulfill additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Educational and Experience Requirements
- A diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines from a recognized Polytechnic institution.
- Fundamental understanding of PC operations and computer networking.
- Experience in a computer operations setting is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Open to recent diploma graduates eager to learn and develop.
Preferred Skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills both written and spoken.
- Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems is an advantage.
- Knowledge of ITIL foundation principles is preferred but not compulsory.
Additional Information
Shift work is mandatory, involving 12-hour shifts around the clock, including weekends and public holidays.
