Role Overview

As a Technical Support Engineer at CData, you will address complex technical issues for both existing and prospective clients. This role demands strong analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle unprecedented challenges related to CData's portfolio of over 250 products spanning 12 editions. You’ll independently and collaboratively research and debug problems, gaining experience with technologies such as MongoDB, QuickBooks, and Salesforce while handling customer inquiries that evolve from beginner to advanced complexity over time.

You'll contribute to maintaining a high-quality service experience by collaborating cross-functionally with Technical Support, Engineering, Pre-Sales, and Product Management teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical support via email, chat, and telephone for the entire product lineup.
  • Establish test environments across Windows, Linux, and Mac platforms to replicate customer issues accurately.
  • Escalate unresolved or ongoing problems to senior management within Technical Support.
  • Document support cases using the ticketing system, test solutions, and keep customers informed on progress.
  • Provide clear, detailed, and customized communication tailored to different technical proficiency levels of customers.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot data integration problems across over 250 software drivers.
  • Develop and enhance support documentation including knowledgebase articles, troubleshooting guides, and FAQs.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, STEM field, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing code to fix fundamental problems in at least one programming language, ideally Java or C#.
  • Capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills to explain solutions to audiences with varied technical backgrounds.
