Key Responsibilities

• Offer strategic technical guidance and leadership across planning and multidisciplinary initiatives, ensuring coordination among planning, environmental evaluation, and stakeholder engagement.
• Manage complex projects as Project Manager or Director, overseeing financial and schedule aspects while collaborating with stakeholders to guarantee client satisfaction.
• Drive team growth and market expansion by cultivating strong client networks and identifying emerging opportunities within the New Zealand Planning sector.
• Support and mentor a national team of planners, enhancing the capabilities of junior staff to maintain high-quality deliverables.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through training and participation in industry groups and global technical communities.
• Contribute to a diverse and collaborative work culture that balances office presence with flexible arrangements for work-life harmony.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of two decades of planning experience, preferably emphasizing infrastructure projects.
• Hold full membership in the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI).
• Recognized as a respected technical authority with a strong background in consultancy.
• Maintain established industry relationships and client networks.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal, networking, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Demonstrate a proactive and decisive approach alongside robust analytical thinking.
• International experience is advantageous.
• Must be based in Auckland or willing to relocate.
