This opportunity is offered by a partner company seeking a Technical Designer based in Germany to join a fully remote game development team. The role focuses on bridging creative and technical teams by designing frameworks, tools, and workflows that empower developers to create innovative gameplay experiences. You will play a key role in shaping efficient production pipelines, enhancing multidisciplinary collaboration, and ensuring the quality of gameplay implementation, all in a collaborative and autonomous setting.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with various teams to identify technical strategies that translate gameplay ideas and creative visions into practical execution.
Create, deploy, and sustain technical frameworks, workflows, and production pipelines to streamline game development processes.
Act as a technical authority by offering guidance, tools, documentation, and best practices to the development teams.
Attain in-depth knowledge of the game engine, development tools, and technical capabilities to enable advanced gameplay features.
Encourage robust system architecture focusing on optimization, scalability, and reusability of content.
Promote technical design methodologies within departments and foster better communication among technical and creative groups.

Essential Qualifications

Prior experience in a Technical Designer, Technical Game Designer, or comparable role in game development.
Proficient technical scripting abilities with experience in visual scripting and/or text-based scripting languages.
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to provide clear and constructive feedback across disciplines.
Analytical problem-solving capability to tackle complex technical and creative challenges effectively.
Sound knowledge of game and level design principles.
Capacity to self-manage duties, prioritize tasks, and work productively in a remote work setting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with programming languages such as C++ is advantageous.
Understanding of optimization methods, technical constraints, network replication, and multiplayer system considerations is beneficial.
