Role Overview
As a Team Member Parks Maintenance, you will play an integral role in preserving the beauty and safety of parks, gardens, and open spaces across Hobsons Bay. You will be part of the Parks and Open Space team, engaging in various horticultural and maintenance tasks, as well as operating machinery and contributing to the upkeep of areas enjoyed by the public daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform horticultural maintenance tasks such as mowing lawns, planting, weeding, mulching, and general garden care.
- Maintain park facilities including playground equipment, furniture, fences, pathways, and landscaped sections.
- Operate and conduct routine checks and maintenance on plant, machinery, and equipment.
- Adhere to safety protocols, prepare safety documentation, and identify potential hazards at the workplace.
- Utilize digital systems to record work activities and provide outstanding service to community members.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Possession of a Trade Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent horticultural experience.
- Experience in operating and maintaining various light and heavy machinery.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality maintenance for parks and open spaces.
- Proficiency in using mobile devices and digital tools for managing work tasks.
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence and eligibility to obtain a medium rigid truck endorsement.
