About the Role

Join a renowned tax team in Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand, recognized as leaders in their domain. This position suits an experienced tax professional seeking to advance to a managerial or associate director level with a respected organization. You will lead and mentor team members to deliver impactful client results, manage diverse client portfolios ranging from SMEs to multinational companies, and contribute to the ongoing development of the Hamilton tax practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on comprehensive tax issues, including compliance and strategic planning.
  • Prepare and review income tax provisions to support financial statement reporting.
  • Assist clients with resolving tax disputes effectively.
  • Apply current and evolving tax legislation knowledge to client cases.
  • Lead client service excellence, fostering high performance and collaboration within teams.
  • Serve as a role model, recognizing and encouraging impactful contributions.
  • Develop team members by offering challenging opportunities for growth.
  • Influence and build confident relationships with clients and internal teams.

Required Qualifications and Expertise

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in tax compliance and advisory roles.
  • Professional accounting qualification.
  • Comprehensive understanding of New Zealand tax processes and environment.
  • Strong leadership, management skills, and teamwork capability.
  • Results-oriented approach with client focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive business development and manage teams effectively.
  • Motivation to nurture and advance colleagues’ careers.
