We are looking for a skilled Talent Programs Specialist to be part of our Talent Management team working onsite in Newport Beach, CA or Charlotte, NC. This role is part of the People Experience team under Talent Management and reports directly to the AVP of Talent Enablement. You will collaborate with talent programs and employee experience specialists across Talent Enablement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement annual talent-related initiatives such as performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, career pathing, assessments, officer promotions, executive coaching, high potential and rotational programs.
  • Partner with business leaders and Centers of Excellence to ensure global alignment of talent programs with company workforce strategy, addressing talent gaps and future needs.
  • Ensure talent initiatives uphold Pacific Life’s core Values, Behaviors, and business strategies.
  • Work closely with the People Solutions team to utilize technology for efficient, data-driven talent management.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators to evaluate talent program effectiveness and impact.
  • Provide insights based on talent data to support decision-making and action planning within the People Experience and broader business functions.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and governance to standardize and scale talent program processes.
  • Keep abreast of external best practices and emerging trends to continually enhance the effectiveness and user experience of talent initiatives.
  • Equip employees, leaders, and People Experience colleagues with resources, tools, and guidance to understand and adopt talent programs successfully.
  • Collaborate with communications and other partners to deliver education and training necessary for program rollout.
  • Integrate talent program efforts into the overall employee experience and work closely with cross-functional Talent Enablement and Talent Management teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with HR Business Partners to ensure talent strategies meet enterprise, divisional, and functional requirements.
  • Assist leaders and colleagues in translating talent program outcomes into actionable development plans, including stretch assignments and targeted learning opportunities.
  • Participate in workforce planning discussions by providing insights into talent shortages, burgeoning skill requirements, and internal pipeline health.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Business, or a related discipline.
  • At least seven years of advancing experience in performance, talent, career, or development program management.
  • Minimum three years of experience overseeing enterprise-wide talent programs such as succession planning, onboarding, or high-potential initiatives.
  • Relevant certifications in talent assessment methodologies.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms, particularly Workday.
  • Ability to utilize data analytics for informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities with a talent for simplifying complex information.
  • Proven success collaborating across functions to drive projects forward.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience working within a global context, ideally in insurance or financial services industries.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a base salary ranging between $113,490 and $138,710 annually. Actual pay will be based on experience, qualifications, and location. Additional incentive pay opportunities are available to most employees.
