System Administrator

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled System Administrator to join the team responsible for managing the infrastructure at Bank of China Limited Singapore Branch. This role involves maintaining physical and virtual systems, implementing security updates, and ensuring smooth operation of critical IT services.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and upkeep physical hardware such as servers and storage devices.
• Install, configure, and manage operating systems on both physical and virtual platforms, covering Windows and Linux environments.
• Regularly apply system updates and security patches to ensure system integrity.
• Administer Active Directory structures and manage Organizational Units within the infrastructure.
• Design, deploy, and resolve issues related to Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to maintain policy compliance.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts primarily using PowerShell to optimize operational workflows.
• Implement robust backup strategies and disaster recovery plans to safeguard data and ensure continuity.

Qualifications and Skills

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience in a System Administrator or equivalent technical role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Proficiency in scripting languages including PowerShell, Linux Shell, as well as familiarity with HTML and XML markup languages.
• Understanding of database design and hands-on experience with databases such as MySQL and MS SQL.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Possession of relevant industry certifications like RHCSA, RCHE, or MCSE is advantageous.
