Role Overview
The Supply Chain Coordinator role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of shipment coordination throughout North America. This role includes leading and mentoring colleagues, prioritizing critical shipments, optimizing carrier selections for cost and quality, and maintaining continuous communication with clients, carriers, and international teams. The position is full-time and based onsite in Mississauga, Ontario, with working hours Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Key Duties
- Lead planning and execution of shipment logistics across North America.
- Ensure timely tendering of loads, dispatch processes, and successful delivery completion.
- Confirm the accuracy of commercial paperwork including bond and invoice reconciliation.
- Engage proactively with clients, shippers, and terminals to resolve shipment inconsistencies.
- Handle escalation processes for Overage, Shortage, and Damage (OSD) claims promptly.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the operations team regarding shipment status and delays.
- Identify and implement cost-efficient carrier options without compromising service standards.
- Support and mentor less experienced team members, especially during high workload periods.
- Enforce adherence to departmental procedures and escalation protocols.
- Perform various administrative duties, including data input and report generation.
Required Qualifications and Expertise
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, or related disciplines.
- Experience in carrier sourcing and dispatching operations.
- Two to four years of transportation or logistics coordination experience, ideally within a 3PL setting.
- Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems such as Truckmate and proficiency in Microsoft Excel is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated experience managing brokerage operations for cross-border freight across the US and Mexico.
- Bilingual English and Spanish language skills are a plus for cross-border coordination.
- Availability to work on Canadian statutory holidays to support U.S. business operations and maintain service continuity across North America.
