Position Overview

The role of Supervision Aide involves overseeing elementary and secondary school students within school premises during lunch breaks. This part-time continuing assignment is suited for individuals such as retirees, post-secondary students, or adults who have availability during lunch hours to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

Working Hours and Compensation

Work schedule: 1 hour per day, up to 5 days weekly
Continual assignment basis
Hourly wage: 26 dollars

Key Responsibilities

Monitor assigned areas during lunch to uphold student safety and encourage proper conduct
Identify potential safety risks early
Maintain a high level of visibility to effectively oversee student activities
Address inappropriate behavior respectfully and calmly, requesting administrative assistance when required
Perform other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong spoken and written English communication skills
Sound judgement and suitable intervention techniques for student behavior management
Ability to serve as a positive role model and connect well with children and youth
Capability to build and sustain cooperative relationships with all school district personnel
Maintain confidentiality at all times
Capacity to remain on feet throughout the work shift

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience supervising groups of school-aged children
Knowledge of first aid and training in conflict resolution or non-violent crisis intervention advantageous
