Overview
Amey is hiring an on-site Stores Person for HMP Stocken, part of a facility management team supporting His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service. This role involves ensuring maintenance teams and prisoners have necessary stock items to operate and sustain the prison site.
Working Hours and Salary
The position requires 39 hours weekly, Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm, with an early finish on Fridays. The annual salary is £27,426.
Key Duties
- Efficiently distributing stock items such as clothing to prisoners.
- Maintaining precise records of inventory and stock dispensed.
- Monitoring stock quantities regularly to avoid shortages.
- Handling stock relocation tasks, including heavy lifting.
- Keeping the storage area clean and orderly.
- Complying with health and safety guidelines at all times.
- Preparing and dispatching items by courier safely.
- Sourcing items locally on demand.
- Contributing to environmental initiatives aimed at reducing carbon footprint.
Candidate Requirements
- Dedicated to improving efficiency and delivering positive outcomes.
- Comfortable working within a prison environment involving direct interaction with prisoners.
- Proficient with IT systems to manage stock and records.
- Possession of a full UK driving licence and access to private transportation.
