Position Overview

We are seeking a Store Manager to lead our passionate team at The Base, Hamilton. This leadership role entails full accountability for the store’s business outcomes and requires collaboration with the wider retail leadership team. The Store Manager will drive sales growth, coach and mentor team members, and promote the Skechers brand across Australia and New Zealand.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage overall store performance by increasing sales, customer transactions, and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Engage directly with customers on the sales floor to boost sales and educate them about our products.
  • Coach, motivate, and build a dynamic, high-performing, and fun team culture through active mentoring and hands-on leadership.
  • Lead and manage a diverse team to achieve collective success in retail operations.
  • Provide weekly business updates highlighting achievements and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee day-to-day store activities, delegating tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain rigorous standards in wage management, loss prevention, visual merchandising, and inventory control.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies to maintain a secure environment for all staff.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrable experience as a Store Manager or in senior leadership roles such as ASM or Supervisor, with a proven record of boosting sales and managing team performance.
  • Ability to operate independently with confidence in making store-related decisions that positively affect sales outcomes.
  • Possesses a growth-oriented mindset, keen on receiving feedback and aspiring to progress toward flagship or senior leadership roles.
  • Passionate about coaching others and capable of nurturing engaged and effective teams.
  • Strong operational expertise including visual merchandising, stock management, and maintaining store aesthetics.
