Position Overview

As a Stockperson/Cartpusher, you are vital in ensuring a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for shoppers. Your duties include collecting shopping carts from various areas such as parking lots and store perimeter, returning them to designated spots following approved procedures, and maintaining a focus on safety and customer interaction. This role helps facilitate smooth store operations while fostering skills in retail, teamwork, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather shopping carts from outdoor and indoor cart corrals and return them safely to storage areas while accurately completing required logs.
• Respond quickly to requests from registers and customer service teams, assist customers with carrying items, and verify purchase receipts when necessary.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance tasks including restroom upkeep, chemical handling, and equipment inspections following safety guidelines.
• Observe all safety protocols related to hazardous communication, equipment lockout/tagout, and bloodborne pathogens to maintain a secure environment for everyone.
• Wear mandated personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes and reflective vests; conduct safety sweeps and uphold company policies promoting a hazard-free workplace.
• Be flexible to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational demands.

Challenges in the Role

• Manage high work volumes efficiently in a fast-paced environment, particularly during overnight hours, ensuring energy and focus are maintained.
• Carry out physically demanding tasks such as standing for long durations, bending, and lifting stock or equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain consistent attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks such as stocking and product zoning to uphold store standards.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.40.
