About the Role
We are inviting compassionate and patient individuals to join our specialist team as SEN Teaching Assistants. You will provide essential guidance and support to students with additional needs to help them flourish in a nurturing educational environment. This full-time, term-time-only role is based in Stafford, England.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalised assistance through 1:1 or small group sessions using sensory play, visual timetables, and tailored communication tools.
- Implement and follow Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) goals, adjusting learning activities to accommodate each student's sensory and cognitive requirements.
- Use alternative communication techniques such as PECS, Makaton, and AAC devices to enhance student interaction.
- Support emotional well-being by identifying signs of distress early and applying sensory breaks or de-escalation strategies.
- Collaborate closely with class teachers, SEN coordinators, and external therapists to ensure comprehensive care and development.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrate exceptional patience and resilience when supporting students through non-linear progress.
- Bring relevant experience gained from educational, care settings, personal connections, or volunteer work with SEND organizations.
- Exhibit strong teamwork skills, balancing direction from specialists with initiative in daily support activities.
- Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check on the update service and maintain a steadfast commitment to safeguarding.

- Salary ranges between GBP 90 and GBP 95 per day, with weekly payments every Friday via Randstad.
